Job summary

LHH US is recruiting a Workers' Compensation Paralegal for the Cleveland Office of a national law firm. The Paralegal investigates facts, prepares documents to assist attorneys, assists with witness interviews, document productions, litigation holds, subpoenas, and deposition preparation.

The role requires paralegal certification or degree and 6+ years of experience in labor/employment litigation, with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, LexisNexis, WestLaw, and related tools.

Qualifications

  • Paralegal certification or degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 6+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in labor/employment litigation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research databases.

  • Summarizes complex legal documents.
  • Organizes and indexes case files.
  • Performs wide variety of data compilation with little or no supervision.
  • Prepares reports, correspondence, declarations and complaints.
  • Drafts a variety of legal documents.
  • Prepares affidavits or documents and maintains document file.
  • Prepares for mediations and trials.
  • Assists Attorneys at trial.
  • Assists Attorney in preparation for depositions.
  • Communicates with witnesses and experts.
  • Enters billing and expense data into Firm system in a timely manner.

The Paralegal investigates facts, prepares documents to assist attorneys, a ssists with witness interviews, document productions, litigation holds, subpoenas (responding and issuing), and deposition preparation.

Responsibilities
  • Investigates facts, and independently prepares documents to assist attorneys with matters
  • Summarizes complex legal documents
  • Organizes and indexes case files
  • Performs wide variety of data compilation with little or no supervision
  • Prepares reports, correspondence, declarations and complaints
  • Drafts a variety of legal documents
  • Prepares affidavits or documents and maintains document file
  • Prepares for mediations and trials
  • Assists Attorneys at trial
  • Assists Attorney in preparation for depositions
  • Communicates with witnesses and experts
  • Enters billing and expense data into Firm system in a timely manner
Qualifications
  • Paralegal certification / degree from accredited college or university
  • 6+ years of paralegal experience, preferably working in a labor/employment litigation practice
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; Lexis-Nexis and WestLaw, Live Note, Relativity, Case Map, Docketing, Document Management System, expense and billing systems

Pay Details: $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
