Responsibilities

• Support attorneys handling wage-and-hour litigation across federal/state courts and arbitration.

• Prepare pleadings, discovery, motions, and settlement documents.
• Organize deposition and trial notebooks and client materials.
• Manage all phases of discovery, including subpoenas and depositions.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, client-focused Paralegal to join our Houston team. The ideal candidate is an organized, dependable multitasker who takes initiative, works well under deadlines, and thrives in a collaborative, high-performing legal environment. This role supports attorneys handling cases in federal court, state court, and private arbitration.

This is an on-site position in our Houston office. Candidates should reside in the Greater Houston area and be available to work Monday through Friday, with an eight-hour workday. Ample overtime opportunities are available.

What You'll Do

• Work primarily under the direction of an assigned group of attorneys managing the firm’s wage-and-hour docket.
• Handle multiple cases in federal court, state court, and private arbitration, including AAA and JAMS matters.
• Assist with all aspects of the litigation process, including discovery, motion practice, hearings, mediations, trials, and arbitrations.
• Review and calendar federal and state court electronic filings in accordance with applicable Federal Rules, Local Rules, and judge-specific requirements.
• Prepare legal documents, including form pleadings, discovery, motions, pre-trial motions, settlement documents, and client correspondence.
• Compile and organize deposition and trial notebooks, client interview materials, pleadings, motions, and pre-trial materials.
• Manage all phases of discovery, including interrogatory responses, document production, disclosures, requests for admissions, subpoenas, and depositions.
• Provide assistance to other paralegals within assigned teams as needed to meet firm and client needs.
• Organize and prioritize attorney and legal assistant workloads to efficiently support team and case objectives.

What We're Looking For

• At least 5 years of progressive paralegal experience in a law firm litigation department.
• Prior wage-and-hour experience is not required.
• Demonstrated experience managing core paralegal functions and responsibilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 365.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with strong judgment and conflict-resolution abilities.
• A high level of discretion, professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
• Excellent time-management skills and flexibility to meet the needs of the team.
• A collaborative, team-oriented approach and the ability to work effectively with attorneys and legal support professionals.
