Paralegal

We are seeking an experienced paralegal to support our general counsel in managing a wide range of legal matters. This in‑office role (based in our Centennial corporate headquarters) will involve handling claims and litigation; partnering with internal business leaders, the broader APi Group legal team, and outside counsel; assisting with contracts and transactional documents; and overseeing regulatory compliance efforts. The ideal candidate has at least 3+ years of paralegal experience and a demonstrated ability to handle a broad range of legal matters. We value a proactive mindset, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to learn across diverse areas of law in support of a rapidly growing company.

Responsibilities
  • Claims & Litigation Handling: Assist in managing legal claims and litigation files, including gathering and organizing evidence and documents, interviewing witnesses, responding to subpoenas and discovery requests, and coordinating with outside counsel and insurance adjusters as needed. Monitor case deadlines, court filings, and case status to ensure timely responses and compliance with procedural requirements.
  • Contract and Transactional Support: Draft, review, and revise a variety of contracts and legal documents under the direction of the General Counsel – such as client service agreements, subcontracts, vendor agreements, non‑disclosure agreements, and purchase orders.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Help ensure the company’s operations remain in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This includes maintaining corporate and contractor licenses, permits, and certifications for various jurisdictions, tracking renewal deadlines, and coordinating filings or reports to government agencies.
  • Policy Implementation and Training: Assist in developing and reviewing internal policies and compliance programs (e.g. safety protocols, ethics and anti‑corruption policies) to ensure they meet legal standards. Help prepare training materials and communications to educate employees on legal requirements and company policies.
  • Document Management and Record‑Keeping: Maintain organized legal files and records. This includes case files, contracts databases, correspondence, and corporate governance documents.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the WSFP executive team, HR, Safety, and the broader APi Group legal team to gather necessary information and documentation for legal matters. Participate in project strategy and review meetings when legal input is required, and proactively flag potential legal or compliance issues to the General Counsel.
  • External Counsel and Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as a point of contact between WSFP’s legal department and external parties, such as outside counsel, internal clients, customers, and regulatory agencies. Coordinate the flow of information and documents to outside counsel during litigation. Assist in managing outside counsel billing and budgets by tracking legal spend on matters.
  • Special Projects: Take ownership of special legal projects and initiatives as assigned by the General Counsel. This may include supporting merger and acquisitions, helping implement a new contracts management software, or leading process improvements to streamline legal workflows. Flexibility and initiative in tackling ad hoc tasks are expected.
Competencies and Skills:
  • In‑depth knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation
  • Proficiency in conducting legal research and preparing legal documents
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the ethical use of emerging technologies, including AI tools; ability to apply sound judgment in leveraging such tools while maintaining confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with professional standards
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, clients, and colleagues
  • Highly organized and detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively
  • Knowledge of case management software and other legal technology
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to think critically
  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field
  • Paralegal certificate from an accredited program preferred
  • 3+ years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm, corporate legal department, or the public sector
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
