  • Support Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance communications.
  • Assist with answering phones and managing files.
  • Help prepare exhibits, subpoenas, and trial logistics.

About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail‑oriented paralegal to join our growing law firm. As a litigation paralegal, you will play a crucial role in spearheading case management, document preparation, client communications, trial preparation, and administrative support. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure will be essential to the success of our team.

Responsibilities:

Case Initiation

  • Set up new cases in the case management system (Filevine).
  • Draft and send representation, preservation, and insurance request letters.
  • Prepare public records requests and fee agreements; collect signatures.
  • Calendar deadlines, court dates, depositions, and discovery.
  • Schedule calls, team meetings, and prep sessions.
  • Track deadlines and notify attorneys as needed.

Email & File Management

  • Save and organize email attachments.
  • File and label productions from opposing counsel in Filevine.

Depositions

  • Schedule depositions and court reporters.
  • Draft and file deposition notices.
  • Organize exhibits, transcripts, and deposition binders.

Pleadings

  • Draft and file motions, dismissals, and subpoenas.
  • Prepare Pro Hac Vice motions and track service issues.

Discovery & Document Production

  • Draft and format discovery requests and responses.
  • Manage deadlines and coordinate document productions.

Medical Records & Damages

  • Request and organize medical records.
  • Prepare summaries, chronologies, and damages outlines.
  • Send records to experts.

Subrogation

  • Support Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance communications.

General Office Support

  • Assist with answering phones and managing personal paper files.

Trial Support

  • Help prepare exhibits, subpoenas, and trial logistics.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2+ years of paralegal experience, with preferred experience in plaintiff‑side / personal injury law.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively within an office setting, client‑focused attitude and attention to detail.
  • Legal Skills: Proficient in drafting legal documents and court procedures. Familiarity with subrogation is a plus.
  • Jurisdictional Expertise: Knowledge of local court rules in Ohio.
  • Self‑Discipline: Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Organization: Exceptional organization, document review, and editing skills.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Software Proficiency: Ability to learn and use various practice management tools.
