Matura Farrington is seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to support a busy commercial real estate practice in Southern California. The role focuses on title and survey review, due diligence coordination, closings, and related land use and environmental matters.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of CRE paralegal experience, strong title/survey review skills, and familiarity with title insurance and due diligence procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate preferred.
  • 7+ years of paralegal experience in commercial real estate.
  • Strong title and survey review experience.
  • Knowledge of title insurance and due diligence procedures.
  • Exposure to land use, zoning, and environmental due diligence preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and document management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Review title commitments, pro formas, policies, endorsements, and exception documents.
  • Analyze easements, liens, covenants, restrictions, encumbrances, access issues, and other title matters.
  • Prepare title summaries, objection letters, and track curative items through closing.
  • Review ALTA/NSPS surveys for boundary, access, easement, encroachment, and title-related issues.
  • Coordinate with title companies, escrow officers, surveyors, consultants, clients, and attorneys.
  • Order, review, and summarize zoning, environmental, property condition, and other due diligence reports.
  • Assist with estoppels, SNDAs, leases, amendments, consents, broker agreements, and closing documents.
  • Prepare closing checklists, timelines, instructions, settlement statement comments, binders, and closing packages.
  • Organize transaction files and maintain title, survey, zoning, environmental, and closing materials.
  • Handle entity-related matters, including resolutions, consents, good standing certificates, certified documents, EINs, and filings.
  • Conduct judgment, lien, and UCC searches; prepare and file UCC financing statements, amendments, assignments, and terminations.
  • Support post-closing follow-up, including recorded documents, final title policies, and transaction deliverables.
  • Maintain calendars and ensure transaction deadlines are met.
