Job summary

Lake Washington School District is seeking a paraeducator to assist teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students with physical or behavioral needs, including those who are medically fragile. This role supports daily living and behavioral skills and helps staff with classroom preparation and retrieval of equipment and supplies.

Hours: 4.0 per day on a 180-day calendar. Location: Dickinson Elementary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• An AA degree or 2 years of college (72 credits) or passing ParaPro/Paraprofessional exams is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students with physical or behavioral needs.
• Supports students' health care needs and develops daily living and behavioral skills.
• Assists staff with classroom preparation and retrieval, use and storage of equipment and supplies.
• May supervise and assist students in library, classrooms, resource rooms, playgrounds, or getting on/off a bus.
