Job summary

Lake Washington School District is seeking a paraeducator to assist teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students at Dickinson Elementary. The role supports students with physical, behavioral, and health care needs and helps with daily living skills.

In addition to classroom duties, you may supervise students in library, classrooms, playgrounds, or while boarding and exiting buses. A 180-day calendar and 4-hour workday apply to this position, with shift TBD and subject to

• Must be at least eighteen years old and have a high school diploma or its equivalent, or an AA degree or 72 college credits, or have passed ParaPro or Pearson assessments as described.
• Must pass criminal background check.

Hourly Rate: $30.79/hour position (SC7ParaEd26-27.pdf ) is eligible for membership in the Teamsters Local Union No. 763 which is part of the Lake Washington School District Trades Bargaining Council No. 763 (TBC)

Job Summary

Assists teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students of all educational levels who have physical or behavioral needs or are medically fragile. Supports students' special health care needs and develops daily living and behavioral skills. Assists staff with classroom preparation and retrieval, use and storage of equipment and supplies. May supervise and assist students in library, classrooms, resource rooms, self-contained classroom, playgrounds, or getting on and off a bus.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent. Must hold an associate degree (AA) or higher OR have completed two years of study equivalent to 72 college quarter credit hours OR have passed an Educational Testing Service ParaPro Assessment documenting a score of 455 or higher OR have passed the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment with a score of 220 or higher. Official documentation will be required upon hire.
