Job summary

Lake Washington School District is seeking a paraeducator at Evergreen Middle School to assist teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students with physical or behavioral needs. The role supports students with health care needs and helps develop daily living and behavioral skills.

Staff may supervise students in library, classrooms, or getting on and off a bus. The position follows an 180-day calendar with hours 7:30 AM–2:30 PM, 6.5 hours per day.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Hold an AA degree or higher OR completed two years of college (72 quarter credit hours).
• Passed ParaPro Assessment with a score of 455+ or Paraprofessional Assessment with a score of 220+.
• Official documentation required upon hire.
• Must pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with individualized and small group instruction.
• Support students with physical or behavioral needs and health care requirements.
• Develop daily living and behavioral skills; assist with classroom prep and supplies.
• Supervise students in library, classrooms, or on bus as needed.

Education
