SUMMARY:Under the direction of a certified teacher, provide support to students with special education needs within the assigned classroom by assisting with students’ individual medical and personal needs; practicing and reinforcing learning concepts with individual and/or small groups of students; assisting students in reaching academic, personal, and behavioral goals; adapting classroom activities, assignments, and/or materials as directed; collaborating with teachers to implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs); monitoring and documenting student activities and behavior; and providing clerical support to teacher(s) and staff. Supports teachers and students within the PALS, CLAS, behavior intervention, essential skills, life program, progressive/adaptive learning, ADT, EDT, sign support, and other Specialized Assistance programs.
