Job summary

CREC Reggio Magnet School of the Arts in Hartford is seeking a dedicated paraeducator to support certified staff, provide individualized or small-group assistance, and help implement IEP goals. You will contribute to an inclusive, positive learning environment and assist with classroom activities, materials, and progress monitoring.

Under supervision, you may guide reading, math, language arts, and supervision duties, including lunch, bus, and field trips.

Qualifications

• For Title I-funded programs: a high school diploma plus two years of college credit, or an AA degree, or a passing score on approved assessments.

Responsibilities

• Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, and other skills.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and implement programs.
• Assist with record-keeping to document student learning and performance.
• Assist with classroom behavioral management to maintain a safe, on-task environment.
• Supervise students in non-instructional areas and accompany them on field trips.
