Job summary

Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) seeks a Paraeducator to support certified staff in delivering educational services to students. The role focuses on individualized or small-group assistance, classroom management, and helping implement educational plans and activities to foster student success.

Under supervision, the paraeducator will assist with instructional tasks, materials preparation, and monitoring progress while ensuring a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma and either 2 years of college or an AA degree.
• Paraeducators may be required to pass ParaPathways Assessment.
• Experience with students with disabilities is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist in classroom preparations and reinforce instructional materials.
• Record-keeping of student learning and progress.
• Assist with behavioral management to keep a safe, focused classroom.
• Supervise non-instructional areas (lunch, bus duty, playground).
• Support IEP objectives and collaboration with teachers.
