Job summary

Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) in Connecticut is seeking a dedicated Paraeducator to support certified staff, deliver individualized or small-group assistance, and help implement educational plans for students with diverse needs.

You will reinforce reading and math, assist with assessments, prepare instructional materials, and monitor progress to promote inclusion and learning success. This role emphasizes collaboration with educators and adherence to safety and IEP goals.

Qualifications

• For Title I-funded programs: a high school diploma plus two years of college credit, or an Associate degree.
• ParaPro Assessment or Para Pathways Assessment is expected/required.
• Reading and Writing (5758) and Mathematics (5759) passing scores may be required for evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, and other skills.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and implement programs.
• Assist with record-keeping and progress monitoring; manage classroom behavior to maintain a safe environment.
