Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools’ Eastern Middle School in Silver Spring is seeking a paraeducator to support students with IEPs. Under a principal's direction, you will assist with instructional activities, behavior support, and classroom management across general and specialized settings.

The role is part‑time at 70 hours bi-weekly (0.875 FTE), with occasional overtime and night work as needed. The wage range is $26.23 to $40.17 per hour, commensurate with years of service, and training

Qualifications

Associate degree required; bachelor preferred, education coursework recommended.
ParaPro Assessment with qualifying score (455+) required.
Experience with students in structured educational settings preferred.
Ability to work with students with various needs and behaviors.

Responsibilities

Assist with instructional activities and classroom management across settings.
Support students with IEP goals and alternate academic standards as needed.
Maintain documentation and perform related clerical tasks to support staff.
Encourage positive behavior and provide patient, supportive interaction with students.
