Qualifications

• High school diploma required; additional college units may substitute for the competency exam.
• Six months of care or instructional experience with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Ability to assist with instruction, records, and basic clerical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provides cognitive, instructional, therapeutic, medical, and social assistance to students with disabilities.
• Assists with individual lesson plans, prepares materials, and supports inclusive learning.
• Interprets IEPs, monitors behavior, and maintains records of student progress and testing.
• Assists with transportation, lunch, safety, and daily classroom activities as needed.
• Supports teachers, parents, and specialists to meet student goals.
