Job summary

Partners-in-Special-Education in Pasadena, CA seeks a paraeducator to support students with special needs. You will assist in implementing IEP objectives and instructional activities for individuals or small groups, under teacher direction.

Responsibilities include maintaining materials and records, monitoring student behavior, and collaborating with districts on SPED documents. A high school diploma plus college credits or AA degree are required, with CBEST preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; two years of college (48 units) or AA degree.
• CBEST preferred.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Confers with the IEP team to evaluate progress and implement objectives.
• Implements instruction for individuals or small groups to meet learning goals.
• Implements behavioral plans for students with special needs.
• Instructs students in math, reading, writing, daily living, etc.
• Maintains instructional materials and student files/records.
• Monitors students to provide a safe, positive learning environment.
• Performs recordkeeping and clerical tasks to support the teacher.
• Communicates with surrounding districts to obtain SPED documents.
• Attends meetings and trainings to stay informed.
