Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Paraeducator Assistant I to support teaching staff and students in a classroom setting. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, preparing teaching aids, and assisting students with assignments under supervision.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: qualifying education and experience would provide the required knowledge and skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent and 48 semester hours or an associate degree OR ParaPro score 460.
• One year of instructional-related experience OR two years as a paraeducator aide or related duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff in various classrooms and related areas.
• Prepare lesson outlines and plans in assigned areas.
• Develop teaching aids and instructional materials.
• Present subject matter using diverse teaching methods and settings.
• Assist students individually or in groups with assignments.
• Prepare and grade examinations and homework.
• Monitor student progress and refer to teacher/parents as needed.
• Maintain classrooms and audio-visual equipment.
