Job summary

Washoe County School District seeks a Paraeducator Assistant I for Early Learning to support pre-k and kindergarten instruction under supervision. You will help prepare lessons, develop teaching aids and assist students individually or in groups to reinforce learning.

The role requires a HS diploma, 48 semester hours (or equivalent), and relevant instructional experience. Candidates should be prepared to participate in literacy programs and maintain records with confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Completion of 48 semester or 60 quarter units from an accredited college or university, desirably in child development, education, special education, or a related field.
• Experience: 1 year performing student instructional activities or personal guidance within an organized program.
• High school diploma or recognized equivalent; two years of paraeducator aide experience may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff in pre-k and kindergarten classrooms and related areas.
• Prepare lesson outlines and plans; develop teaching aids.
• Present subject matter using various methods in traditional and non-traditional settings.
• Assist students individually or in groups with assignments; reinforce concepts.
