Job summary

Snohomish School District is seeking a Paraeducator A for Emerson Elementary to support the elementary educational process under the direction of the Building Administrator and classroom teacher.

Duties include classroom support and supervision during recess and lunch; work schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:15 a.m.–1:00 p.m., 4.75 hours daily, nine months per year, with paid holidays. Salary range and benefits are listed in the district posting.

Qualifications

  • For eligibility, you must be at least 18 and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Candidates may hold an associate degree or higher, or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher.
  • Alternative assessments may satisfy qualification requirements with approved scores.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Building Administrator and classroom teacher, is responsible for supporting the elementary educational process. Specific responsibilities for this position are as described on the attached job description.

Special Duties/Responsibilities

Duties include providing classroom support as well as recess and/or lunch supervision.

Work Schedule
  • Start Date: September 1, 2026
  • Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
  • Paid Hours:4.75hours per day; 2.25 hours/day Learning Assistance Program/Title and 2.25 hours/day General Elementary and .25 hours/day Crossing Guard
  • Calendar: 9 months/year; enjoy time office during spring break, winter break and summer, plus 10 paid holidays.
Qualifications
  • Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent, and meet one (1) of the following:
  • Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or
  • Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university; or
  • Passed one of the following Professional Educator Standards Board approved assessments: ETS Para Pro Assessment Score of 455 or higher; Para Pathways Score of 324 in Reading and Writing and a Score of 325 in Mathematics; Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment Score of 220 or higher; or Master Teacher Inc. Paraeducator Training Program Score of 65% or higher.
  • Upon hire, must completethe Fundamental Course of Study (FCS)-Paraeducator Certificate.
  • Ability to meet the qualifications as listed on the job description for this position.
