Job summary

Snoqualmie Valley School District 410 is seeking a Paraeducator II - Short-Term Sub to support instructional activities from 9/10/2026 to 12/18/2026. The position follows Monday-Thursday 8:55 a.m. to 3:55 p.m.

and Friday 8:55 a.m. to 1:55 p.m., totaling about 31 hours per week, with a wage range of $25.83 to $30.00 per hour under the 2026-27 PSE Salary Schedule. Under supervision of a certificated staff member, you will assist in delivering educational programs to individuals or small groups

Qualifications

  • At least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Must meet one of: passing score on Paraeducator assessment.
  • Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
  • Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher.
  • Have completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of a certificated staff member, assists in delivering educational programs to individual or small groups across settings, including general and special education classrooms, community sites, and vocational sites.

Monday - Thursday:8:55 a.m. - 3:55 p.m. (includes one 15-minute paid break and one 30-minute unpaid meal break)
Friday:8:55 a.m. - 1:55 p.m. (includes one 15-minute paid break)

Position Summary

Under the direction of a certificated staff member, assists in the delivery of educational programs to individual or small groups of students in a variety of settings. These settings include, but are not limited to, special and general education classrooms; community sites, and vocational sites on and off school campuses. Daily schedule generally includes some shifts of outdoor recess, bus arrival/dismissal, and/or lunchroom supervision.For complete details, please see the attached job description.

WA State Paraeducator requirements
  • At least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent,

In addition, a paraeducator must also meet one of the following:

  • Have received a passing score on one of the assessments approved by the Paraeducator Board (www.pesb.wa.gov)
  • Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
  • Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university.
  • Have completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council.
Upon hire, successful candidate must provide
  • Acopy of a High School diploma or HS transcripts, or acceptable equivalent document.
  • Official post secondary transcript(s).
  • Insurance: Substitutes are not eligible for insurance unless they have worked or are anticipated to work at least 630 hours in a school year at which point they will become eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, basic life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.*
  • Retirement Plans: This position is eligible for a 403(b) TSA Retirement Savings Plan.
  • Paid Holidays: This position is not eligible for paid holidays.
  • Paid Time Off: This position is not eligible for paid time off.

*Snoqualmie Valley School District benefits are administered by the Washington State Healthcare Authority (HCA) under the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB).

Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours employees are anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Any employee who is scheduled to work 630 hours or more in a year is eligible for benefits.
