Job summary

Snohomish School District is seeking a Paraeducator A for the Science Lab at Glacier Peak High School to support the secondary educational process under supervision. This leave replacement runs September 1–30, 2026.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a ParaPro score or college credits, and completion of the FCS-Paraeducator training upon hire. Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for 9 months with paid holidays.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must meet one of the following: 455 on ETS ParaPro or a qualifying score on Paraeducator assessments.
  • Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
  • Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher.
  • Upon hire, complete the FCS-Paraeducator Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Science Lab under supervision of Building Administrator or Science Lead.
  • Support the secondary education process through general lab-related tasks.
  • Adhere to district policies and procedures as described in the job description.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Building Administrator or Science Department Lead, is responsible for applying general skills supporting the secondary educational process. Specific responsibilities for this position are as described on the attached job description. This is a temporary leave replacement position beginning September 1, 2026 through September 30, 2026.

Salary Range:

$28.91 - $32.84/hour Paraeducator A per 2026-27 Public School Employees Salary Schedule.

Above pay rates do not include holiday and pay in lieu of vacation, which increases the hourly compensation.

Work Schedule:
  • Dates Needed: September 1, 2026 - September 30, 2026 (dates subject to adjustment)
  • Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • Lunch Break: 30-minutes unpaid break
  • Calendar: 9 months/year; enjoy time office during spring break, winter break and summer, plus 10 paid holidays.
Qualifications:
  • Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent, and meet one (1) of the following:
  • Have received a score of 455 on the ETS ParaPro (https://www.ets.org/parapro ),or a qualifying score on the Pearson Paraprofessional assessmentor Master Teacher Inc. Paraeducator Training Program;
  • Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university;
  • Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university.
  • Upon hire, must completethe Fundamental Course of Study (FCS)-Paraeducator Certificate.
  • Ability to meet the qualifications as listed on the job description for this position.
  • If selected for an interview, must first pass the Science Lab Skills Assessment.
