Job summary

Everett Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator to support a 1:1 Life Skills program within Special Education for the 2026-27 school year. The role focuses on assisting students with significant cognitive and adaptive needs, implementing IEPs, and supporting health and safety plans.

The position involves collaboration with teachers and other staff to provide targeted supports, including behavior and academic interventions. Training may be required for Right Response and related procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with IEPs and adaptive needs.
• Ability to follow health plans and medical delegations as per student plans.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Assist with academic, behavior/social, and adaptive needs.
• Support implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Assist in health plans, toileting plans, and medical delegations as required.
• May require Right Response training and bus supervision with a student.

Paraeducator responsibilities may include:

• Supporting the implementation of Individualized Educational Plan
• Academic, behavior/social, and/or adaptive needs
• Assisting implementation of Behavior Intervention plan
• Assisting in the health plan, toileting plan, and/or medical delegations depending on students' individualized plan
• May require Right Response training; depending on program and student needs
• May require riding the bus with a student

Life Skills Program:

The Life Skills program is a service for students with significant cognitive and academic delays, existing concurrently with deficits in adaptive behavior. These programs are for students who will likely need a life-skills or functional approach to academic instruction.
