Job summary

Hands of Heartland in North Platte, NE is seeking a compassionate Para-Educator to support school-age students under a certified Special Education teacher. You will assist students with IEP goals, helping with academic and daily living skills to promote independence in classroom and community.

This is a part-time role, Monday through Friday, with potential for extra hours in other departments. No prior experience is required—we provide training and opportunities to earn incentives.

Hands of Heartland is looking for a compassionate and caring individual to work with the people we support as a Para-Educator in North Platte, NE.

What You’ll Do

Under the guidance of a certified Special Education teacher, you will work with one or more school-age students with an IEP to provide targeted academic skills, daily living skills and social/emotional support to reduce or eliminate barriers to independent adult living. Students may need assistance with self-care and/or mobility. Coaches will work with students on their IEP goals and do daily data recording on these goals. Coaches will also work with students on daily living skills in the classroom and out in the community. You will assist students in transitioning from school to adult living by providing real life experiences and helping them to be as independent as possible.

Hours

We are looking for part-time hours Monday through Friday. There is the possibility of getting additional hours in other departments, if needing to work some flexed hours.
