Job summary

Coupeville School District is seeking a Para Educator for a leave replacement at Coupeville Elementary School. The position runs from November 2, 2026 to February 16, 2027, with a pay rate commensurate with the CESA Salary Schedule, Step 1 at $28.50 per hour.

The role involves supporting instructional activities, assisting students with disabilities, supervising in classrooms and on the playground, and participating in MDT/IEP meetings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least two years of higher-education coursework (72 quarter hours or 48 semester hours) or an associate's degree or higher.
• First Aid and CPR certification is required.
• Proficiency with computers for word processing, data management, and email.
• Ability to communicate with students, staff and parents; friendly and respectful demeanor.
• Knowledge of diversity and inclusive practices.

Responsibilities

• Work under teacher direction to implement instructional activities.
• Assist students with daily hygiene activities, including personal care as needed.
• Supervise students in classroom, playground, and cafeteria.
• Collect data on student performance and maintain instructional records.
• Interpret curriculum and information for bilingual students and parents when needed.
• Attend MDT and IEP meetings as required.
• Handle discipline and referrals per school rules and IEPs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
