Job summary

Ancient Lakes Elementary in Quincy, Washington invites applications for Para Educator I/II. The .5 position supports classroom instruction under licensed teachers in the Ancient Lakes Elementary Resource Room, with 180 days of work at 6.75 hours per day.

Responsibilities include developing instructional materials, assisting students with daily tasks, and maintaining confidentiality. Requires education credits or an associate degree, and a ParaPro assessment or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Two years of study at an institution of higher education, at level 100 or higher.
• Associate's degree or higher.
• Pass the ETS Para Pro Assessment test.
• Experience working with P-12 students.
• First Aid/CPR card or ability to obtain.
• Demonstrate basic computer literacy skills.
• Demonstrate punctuality and attendance.
• Demonstrate flexibility with schedule changes.
• Work in noisy and crowded environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated teacher to accomplish instructional goals in general education or resource classrooms.
• Develop plans, materials, and activities under direction of the certificated teacher.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and community.
• Support adaptive daily tasks as trained by the school nurse or teachers.
• Teach independent living skills under supervision when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by principal or superintendent.
