Job summary

The Maine Municipal Association's Risk Management Services department is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Claims Support Specialist to join our collaborative Claims team in Augusta, ME. This role supports Workers' Compensation and Property & Casualty claims in a fast-paced, paperless environment.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of administrative or office support experience.
• Strong data entry skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Word.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-volume environment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• General insurance knowledge is preferred but not required.
• Commitment to teamwork and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Process and enter new claims and claim updates into the claims management system.
• Open, sort, scan, and route incoming correspondence and documents.
• Process medical bills, expense payments, and other claim-related transactions.
• Print and reconcile claim checks.
• Generate and distribute correspondence, reports, and Workers' Compensation Board forms.
• Perform daily electronic data transfers and claims processing activities.
• Respond to member and vendor inquiries and provide administrative support as needed.
• Assist with general office and departmental support functions.
