Job summary

Clearwater Paper Corp's Cypress Bend facility in Arkansas seeks an Assistant Superintendent to lead the paper machine operations, driving safety, quality, and production targets and serving as a technical resource for the operations team.

You will mentor shift supervisors, manage budgets, drive process improvements, and ensure standards across safety, environmental, and cost metrics. This role emphasizes leadership and hands-on problem-solving in a high-speed manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in an operations leadership role in a Paper or Consumer Packaged Goods processing facility.
• High school diploma or GED required; B.S. Chemical Engineer or Pulp and Paper science preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to senior-level audiences.
• Advanced systems aptitude and proficiency with Windows-based Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing operations on the paper machine to meet Safety, Quality, and Production objectives.
• Act as technical resource for the operations team and drive project and process improvements.
• Set objectives aligned to the site Integrated Business Plan (IBP) and coach the team to achieve them.
• Ensure compliance with Safety, Environmental, Quality, Cost, and Production standards.
