Job summary

Clearwater Paper’s Cypress Bend facility in Arkansas is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead manufacturing process development and continuous improvement. You will focus on safety, quality, cost, yield, waste, and process reliability while guiding technical solutions and capital project start-ups.

You will evaluate new technologies, lead problem-solving across operating areas, and train operators in quality procedures, ensuring adherence to standards in a high-speed mill environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Chemical Engineering or Paper Science preferred
• 5+ years of relevant experience required; Paper Machine or pulping/bleach plant experience preferred
• Proficient knowledge of PI (Process Information System)
• Experience with Production Management systems preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required
• Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks
• Experience with CI, Lean, OEE and TPM techniques desired
• Work in a high-speed manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, and physical demands

Responsibilities

• Lead development and continuous improvement of the manufacturing process with focus on safety, quality, cost, yield, waste, and reliability
• Evaluate new technologies, implement process changes, and develop systems to reduce costs and improve quality
• Provide support data for reports and performance updates; analyze data to reduce variability
• Review production schedules and modify to reduce downtime and changeovers
• Design solutions to eliminate equipment failures and process instabilities; train operators and monitor compliance
• Organize shutdown schedules and supervise crews during trials or upset conditions
• Conduct process trials, document results, and justify capital expenditures
• Assist with startup coordination of capital projects and process improvements
