Job Title: Panel Welder - Entry Level Welding at Hennig

Description

1. Works from engineering drawings and Bill of Materials to fabricate and weld conveyor and components.
2. Accurately measures and lays out holes and locations for welded components.
3. Adjusts welder settings as needed to accommodate varying thicknesses of steel.
4. Operates welding equipment, grinders, drills, and a variety of hand/power tools and measuring devices. Operates overhead crane and forklift if certified.
5. Completes all required paperwork, records, and documentation.
6. Follows safety and work rules/regulations, including proper use of PPE such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, welding helmet, grinding shield, fitted clothing, hearing protection, and gloves.
7. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards (5S).
8. May travel to customer facilities to perform service work.
9. Assists in training new employees in safe and efficient fabricating and welding methods.
10. Works in other departments as needed and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• On-the-job training as appropriate for this position.
• Sheet metal capabilities preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, bills of materials, manuals, instructions, and procedures. Effective communication skills.
• Good mechanical ability and basic calculation skills for operating welding and fabricating machines.
• 1-3 years of trade training and/or related experience or a combination of education and experience.
• Physical ability to stand, use hands/feet, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, crawl, reach, climb, and sit. Must regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Visual acuity for job functions.
• Exposure to loud noise, fumes, sparks, airborne particles, vibration, chemicals, and extreme heat.
