Job summary

WEG Electric Corp. is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager – Panel Engineering (UL 508A) to lead the engineering and design function for UL 508A listed panels and engineered panel assemblies.

You will own design integrity, standards compliance, and grow a team of panel design engineers and drafters while collaborating with Sales, OEM, Panel Shop Operations, and Quality to balance capacity and ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in electrical/panel design engineering with UL 508A experience
• 5+ years in a supervisory or leadership role managing engineers/designers
• Working knowledge of UL 508A requirements including SCCR, enclosure ratings and labeling/listing
• Familiarity with NEC/NFPA 70, NEMA and IEC standards for industrial control panels
• Proficiency with electrical CAD tools and PLM/ERP systems
• Strong leadership, communication and customer-facing skills

Responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering for UL 508A listed panels and assemblies
• Ensure compliance with UL 508A, NEC/NFPA 70, NEMA and IEC standards
• Review and approve drawings, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and control schematics
• Recruit, hire, and develop panel design engineers and drafters
• Define competency requirements and lead training programs
• Oversee workload balancing and resource allocation for panel engineering
• Collaborate with Sales, OEM and Channel on engineered-to-order panels
• Own engineering change management and documentation standards
• Coordinate with Panel Shop Production on constructability and lead-time
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time and rework
• Represent Engineering in customer reviews and internal planning
