Job summary

Industrial Power Solutions, a Sundt Company, is seeking a skilled Panel Designer to join our Electrical Manufacturing team in Tempe, AZ. You will design UL 508A industrial control panels, develop PLC and HMI programs, and support panel fabrication through testing and commissioning.

This role requires experience with AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN, reading schematics and P&IDs, and collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and field teams to deliver robust automation solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial controls, automation, or control systems engineering.
• Experience programming PLC and HMI systems.
• Ability to read and modify electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design UL 508A industrial control panels, electrical schematics, and panel layouts.
• Develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs for industrial automation systems.
• Create and maintain electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar CAD software.
• Select electrical components and ensure designs comply with UL 508A, NEC, and NFPA 79 standards.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and panel shop teams throughout project execution.
• Support FAT, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer support.
