Job summary

Daikin Applied is hiring for a material handler in Dayton, Ohio. Starting wage is $18.00 per hour for 1st shift with overtime opportunities. Join a climate-balanced facility with strong safety programs and growth potential.

You will move, stack, and package materials, operate forklifts and pallet jacks, and ensure accurate inventory and shipping readiness. Requires HS/GED or 2 years' experience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift and move materials and stand for long shifts.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• High School Diploma or GED or 2 years related manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Reads work order or tickets to determine materials to be picked or processed.
• Loads/unloads materials using pallets, forklift, pallet jack, or conveyors.
• Packages materials, ensures correct labeling and secure packing for shipment.
• Loads materials and prepares them for transport in vehicles.
• Counts, weighs, and records units moved on the production sheet.
• Adheres to safety policies and uses PPE as required.
• Operates pallet jack and forklift regularly.
• Maintains accuracy and productivity standards.

Your Responsibilities:

• Reads work order or pick tickets or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be picked, moved, or processed
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, forklift, pallet jack, conveyor, or other material handling equipment
• Loads materials into vehicles and installs banding and stretch wrapping to prevent shifting or damage in transit
• Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area
• Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information or cases or containers
• Packs and prepares cartons for shipping to customers
• Ensures accuracy or order and security of packaging to avoid damage in shipment
• Operate a pallet jack and forklift on a regular basis
• Able to meet quality and productivity deliverables
• Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications:

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.
• The ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
