Job summary

Avera McKennan is hiring an RN for the Palliative Medicine Prairie Center. You will deliver comprehensive nursing care by developing diagnoses, setting objectives, and implementing plan components while supporting patients, families, and friends to understand conditions, medications, and self‑care skills.

You will coordinate with physicians and the health care team to ensure a compassionate, effective care experience.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in state of practice.
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Review physician prescriptions and share nursing care plan with the team.
• Develop nursing care plans by assessing medical histories and conditions.
• Educate patients and families about care requirements, medications, and self‑care.
• Evaluate care outcomes and adjust plans as conditions change.
• Maintain a safe environment by following infection control and medication procedures.
• Document care in patient records and care team communications.
• Keep equipment and supplies functioning and stocked.
• Uphold leadership expectations and confidentiality.
