Job summary

Terrestris Global Solutions is seeking Painters to support the Veteran community in Montgomery, AL. The role is a 1-year contract with a pay rate of $21.00+ per hour and a schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.

Locations include Montgomery and Tuskegee, AL. Candidates must have OSHA 30-hour certification, 3+ years of painting experience, and be able to work in demanding conditions. VA experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
• 3+ years of professional painting experience and knowledge in the construction field.
• OSHA 30-hour construction certification.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Work at heights and climb ladders.
• Work in confined spaces.
• Work in high temperatures.
• Work in a noisy environment.
• Work may involve potential hazardous exposures such as asbestos, machine parts, soot, dirt, grease, chemicals, oil, and fumes.
• Ability to function safely while wearing a respirator - Work requiring an OSHA-approved respirator and proper fit tested.
• Standing and bending for long periods of time.
• Previous experience with the VA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform coating work using accepted coating methods, such as brushing, rolling, and spraying.
• Apply coating techniques to ensure a smooth decorative appearance and meet thickness and level requirements.
• Apply coating materials with devices such as brushes, rollers, spray guns, and graining devices.
• Prepare surfaces by smoothing with pumice and rottenstone, filling, shaping, and leveling with metal and synthetic resins.
• Able to make repairs and alterations to paintable exterior and interior surfaces such as walls, floors, ceilings, windows, and doors.
• Apply techniques to remove wallpaper and prep surface.

Typical Day

• 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Federal Holidays excluded.
