Job summary

Terrestris Global Solutions is seeking skilled Painters to support the Veteran community in the Montgomery, AL area. Positions are open to Locum or Traveling professionals and require 3+ years of painting experience and OSHA 30-hour certification.

The role offers a 1-year contract with a daytime schedule (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, holidays excluded) at two Alabama locations: Montgomery and Tuskegee. Benefits include health, dental, vision, 401(k) match, and paid leave.

Qualifications

• Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
• 3+ years of professional painting experience in construction.
• OSHA 30-hour construction certification.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks in various environments.
• Comfort with working at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform coating work using brushing, rolling, and spraying.
• Apply coatings to meet thickness and level requirements for interior and exterior surfaces.
• Prepare surfaces with smoothing, filling, shaping, and leveling techniques.
• Repair and alter paintable surfaces including walls, floors, ceilings, windows and doors.
• Remove wallpaper and prep surfaces as part of job scope.
• Maintain standard schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
• 3+ years of professional painting experience and knowledge in the construction field.
• OSHA 30-hour construction certification.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Work at heights and climb ladders.
• Work in confined spaces.
• Work in high temperatures.
• Work in a noisy environment.
• Work may involve potential hazardous exposures such as asbestos, machine parts, soot, dirt, grease, chemicals, oil, and fumes.
• Ability to function safely while wearing a respirator - Work requiring an OSHA approved respirator and proper fit tested.
• Standing and bending for long periods of time.
• Previous experience with the VA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform coating work using accepted coating methods, such as brushing, rolling, and spraying.
• Apply coating techniques to ensure a smooth decorative appearance and meet thickness and level requirements.
• Apply coating materials with any of the accepted trade devices, including those designed to give special effects, for example, brushes, rollers, spray guns, and graining devices.
• Prepare surfaces with methods such as smoothing with pumice and rottenstone, filling, shaping, and leveling with metal and synthetic resins.
• Able to make repairs and alterations to paintable exterior and interior surfaces such as walls, floors, ceilings, windows, and doors.
• Apply techniques to remove wallpaper and prep surface.
• Work a standard 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, Federal Holidays excluded.
