Job summary

William & Mary is seeking a Painter/Sheetrock Trades Worker to maintain and repair painted finishes on campus buildings, including drywall repair and furniture refinishing. The role covers interior and exterior work with some carpentry tasks, reporting to Facilities Management.

The candidate should have extensive painting and sheetrock experience, knowledge of paints and finishes, and ability to read specifications. A valid driver's license is required, and overtime or on-call work may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Significant painting and sheetrock experience.
• Knowledge of paints, stains, materials, and related equipment.
• Ability to interpret paint-related specs and research materials.
• Strong communication skills, written and oral.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• 80% - Carpentry repairs: painting, sheetrock, and finishing of interiors/exteriors.
• Repair and finish damaged sheetrock, plaster and paint finishes as needed.
• 15% - Work administration: inspections, material ordering, scheduling, and documentation.
• 5% - Other duties as assigned.
