Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

Paint walls, equipment, buildings, and other structural surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns. May remove old paint to prepare surfaces prior to painting.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Apply paint to building and other structures using a brush, rollers, or spray gun
• Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect during painting
• Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers
• Remove fixtures such as doorknobs and switch covers prior to painting
• Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, and wire brushing
• Smooth surfaces using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, and steel wool
• Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to work above ground level
• Assist in surveys and reports as needed
• Attend ongoing educational programs to stay updated and maintain certifications
• Participate in mandatory in-services
• Respect patients'/residents' rights and follow compliance and safety protocols
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-4 years of experience
• Some overnight travel may be required
• Ability to perform repetitive finger, hand, and wrist movements
• Ability to keep hands and arms steady
• Proper use of tools and equipment
• Meet quality standards and safety regulations
• Demonstrate good workmanship in a neat and timely manner
• Ability to work independently and establish effective relationships
