Scope of Position

Sprays surfaces of vehicles, manufactured products, or working area with protective or decorative material such as paint, epoxies, or primer by performing the assigned duties.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans grease and dirt from product.
  • Fills cavities and dents with putty, repairs, mudworks, scuffs and sands to attain smooth surface.
  • Pours coating liquid into spray container and connects gun to airhose.
  • Covers cab and applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
  • Turns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray.
  • Determines flow and viscosity of paints and quality of coating visually or by use of viscometer.
  • Pulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
Qualification
  • Hangs and unloads parts up to 50 lbs. without assistance, anything over with assistance.
  • Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling, on back, bending positions.
  • Ability to work with arms above head.
  • Ability to work from ladders.
  • Ability to safely use hand, air, pneumatic, and power tools, and machinery.
  • Ability to understand and operate all safety equipment in the area.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
