Painter

Location: West Monroe, LA

This position will be on our graveyard shift, Sunday-Thursday, 9 pm-7 am.

Summary

Industrial Painter I operates a spray painter or other equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metals or products. Responsibilities include mixing paints, monitoring drying, completing finishing with baking or polishing, and following all safety procedures. May paint items by hand as needed.

Responsibilities

1. Paint surfaces of metal parts using spray painting equipment and work aids, utilizing specific surface preparation and painting techniques.
2. Apply a variety of coatings including enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and military coatings from various manufacturers.
3. Consistently meet paint thickness requirements.
4. Prior to painting, clean and prepare part surfaces to be contamination-free.
5. Inspect parts prior to paint for needed repair, prepping, and cleaning.
6. Mask parts to print notes, stating tight tolerances for overspray prevention.
7. Hang or set-up parts prior to painting.
8. Inspect parts after painting for needed repairs, proper thickness, and general appearance.
9. Sand, mask, blend, and finish to match parts' surrounding areas when completing paint repairs.
10. Properly maintain paint equipment, including spray guns, booths, filters, etc.
11. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
