Job summary

Hutco Inc is seeking a Blaster/Painter in the Tampa area to perform skilled blasting and painting of steel plate and pipe for marine vessels and related equipment.

Responsibilities include working in confined spaces, lifting, operating blasting/painting tools, and navigating varied heights and structures on docks and vessels. A drug test and E-Verify are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years shipyard experience in blasting and painting.
• Must have own blasting and painting equipment (helmet, hoses, tips, spray guns, etc.).
• Must pass drug test and E-Verify.

Responsibilities

• Enter and work in internally confined spaces.
• Manipulate and transport loads up to 50 pounds over distances up to 200 feet, approximately 1 to 6 times during each 8 hour shift.
• Manipulate and operate all machines and tools essential to the performance of the position of Blaster/Painter.
• Traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights.
• Traverse and negotiate uneven heights between dock and vessel.
• Traverse and negotiate uneven surfaces.
• Maneuver around piping obstructions and web frames.
• Ascend and work at heights.
• Stooping, squatting, twisting, kneeling and reaching.

Rate of Pay:

$20- $25 per hour and $120.00 Daily Per Diem for those who qualify

Description

Perform a variety of skilled Blasting and Painting of steel plate and pipe in the repair and/or construction of marine vessels and associated equipment.
