Job summary

Southern Grind is seeking a reliable Painter Assistant to support preparation and painting tasks on a variety of surfaces. You will clean surfaces, prep, sand, and assist other departments while maintaining equipment and adhering to safety protocols.

Typical duties include disposing of chemical waste, using PPE, and following work orders under a 1st shift schedule, Monday to Friday. Background and drug screening will be required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience with prep, sanding, wet sanding, and buffing is required.
• Reliable, detail oriented, and self-motivated.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work orders.
• Ability to work within aggressive schedules and deadlines.
• Forklift certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean surfaces prior to layering paint.
• Maintaining technical equipment for the job and ensuring that they are in working order.
• Safely disposing of chemical waste.
• Ensure that PPE such as painting goggles are used.
• Utilizing different prepping techniques based on the nature of the surface.
• Assist in other departments as needed.

Painter Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

The Painter Assistant is responsible for all aspects of paint preparation, from start to finish as well as assisting in other departments as needed.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• 1 year of experience with prep, sanding, wet sanding, and buffing is required

PREFERRED SKILLS

• 1 year of experience painting a variety of surfaces to include aluminum, fiberglass, smooth and rough surfaces is preferred
• Reliable, detail orientated, and self-motivated
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work orders
• Ability to work within aggressive schedules and deadlines
• Forklift certification is preferred

CORE DUTIES

• Clean surfaces prior to layering paint
• Maintaining technical equipment for the job and ensuring that they are in working order

HOURS

• 1st shift position
• Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
• Overtime as needed

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates that accept an offer of employment will be required to pass a background and drug screen. Candidates must also meet ATF requirements for firearm possession.
