Description

JOB SUMMARY

Tends equipment with compressed air spray nozzles that coat products and automatically applies and bakes these coatings onto fabricated steel products. Also sprays surfaces of manufactured products, such material as paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Fills machine reservoir with coating solution, such as lacquer, enamel, or varnish. Start conveyor or feed rolls that carry products to be coated and baked, through equipment. Sets heating unit at specified temperature and starts pumps and exhaust fans. Feeds products onto conveyor or between feed rolls that apply coating. Examines products emerging from baking unit for conformance to coating thickness and appearance specifications. Mixes coating to prescribed viscosity. Gauges thickness of coating to determine adherence to quality control specifications. Cleans grease and dirt from product. Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated. Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface. Pulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat. Coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer with brush. Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent. Moves sleeve on nozzles to attain specified spraying pressure and turns thumbscrew to direct nozzles toward articles or materials to be coated. Places articles or material onto conveyor or onto transfer table that carries them between spray nozzles. Regulates temperature of coating solution and curing ovens. Removes articles or materials from conveyor belt and places articles or materials in drying racks or container. Knowledge of the EMS, QMS policies, goals and objectives. Assist with systems based on Lean principles and practices to meet or exceed the requirements of the established QMS, EMS and all other standards required to serve our target markets. Adjusts contacts, stakes units, adjusts springs, and shafts to meet specifications.
