Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a full-time Painter for 1st shift at our Monticello, IA facility. The role covers preparation, painting metal surfaces, and final quality checks in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, material handling, and following strict safety procedures while meeting production standards. Strong reading, writing, math, and teamwork are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing and/or painting experience preferred.
• Must read and write and perform basic math as job duties require.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be a team player.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis.
• Must be quality and safety conscious with excellent attendance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect paint finishes to ensure quality adherence.
• Clean and maintain spray painting equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and wear protective gear.
• Mix, match, and manage inventory of paints and solvents.
• Understand and follow manufacturing specifications and processes.
• Identify and address issues in the painting process.
• Track daily usage of paints, thinners and solvents.
• Apply paint using spray guns, brushes, rollers or other tools.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned by department leadership.

Job Description

JOB DETAILS

Pay: $18-20

Shift: 1st Shift

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Painters are responsible for all aspects of painting metal, including set up, operation, inspection, and material handling activities. Painters are expected to work in a safe, productive and cooperative manner in accordance with Cornerstone Building Brands policies and procedures.

• Quality Control:Inspecting paint finishes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Equipment Maintenance:Cleaning and maintaining spray painting equipment.
• Safety:Following safety procedures and wearing appropriate protective gear.
• Material Management:Mixing, matching, and managing inventory of paints, solvents, and other materials.
• Production Processes:Understanding and following manufacturing specifications and processes.
• Problem Solving:Identifying and addressing issues related to the painting process.
• Inventory Control:Tracking daily usage of paints, thinners, and other solvents.
• Paint Application:Applying paint, varnish, or other finishes using spray guns, brushes, rollers, or other tools.
• Additional Duties:Complete all tasks as assigned bydepartment leadership

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing and/or painting experience preferred
• Must be able to read, write and perform basic math skills as job duties require
• Must possess common sense, positive attitude, and demonstrate excellent attendance
• Must be quality and safety conscious, a team player
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to interact with people
• Extensive standing, frequent bending, sitting, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting and walking
• Required personal protective equipment, overhead crane, carts, dollies and some hand tools
• Safe work performance is required from each Associate at all times
