Job summary

Mazzella is seeking a dedicated Painter to prepare and finish surfaces by filling, smoothing, repairing, and spraying coatings according to specifications. You will mix liquids, apply multiple coats, and may paint decorative designs using stencils.

You will also coat hard-to-reach areas with the proper equipment and ensure clean, safe work practices. As part of a team at Mazzella, you will maintain tools and workspace, follow safety guidelines, and contribute to quality coatings on cranes, BTH

Qualifications

• Must have experience as a spray painter.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Able to see subtle color differences.
• Experience with breathing masks and protective clothing.
• Able to work with chemicals and paints.
• Able to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Remove rust and other loose materials using power tools.
• Sand and smooth surfaces to be sprayed.
• Apply masking tape and coverings over areas not being sprayed.
• Attach the correct spray nozzle to create desired spray pattern.
• Set and adjust spray equipment for optimal finish.
• Spray cranes, BTH products, and specialty items using industry techniques.
• Spray designs using stencils if required.
• Clean spray cans, nozzles, and equipment after each spray job.
• Inspect and assess coatings after drying.
• Maintain clean and organized work area and follow safety guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Duties

• Remove rust and other loose materials using power wire disk
• Sand and smooth surfaces that need to be sprayed
• Apply masking tape and coverings over areas that are not being sprayed
• Select and attach the correct spray nozzle to create the desired spray pattern
• Set and adjust spray equipment to obtain optimal coating finish
• Spray cranes, BTH products, and specialty items using industry techniques
• Spray designs using stencils, if required
• Clean spray cans, nozzles, and other spraying equipment after each spray job
• Inspect and assess spray coatings after the paint has dried
• Maintain work area, equipment, and tools in a clean and organized manner; follow all Safety Guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

Education

• High school diploma or GED.

Experience & Skills

• Must successfully complete a criminal background check, drug screen and E-verify
• Experience working as a spray painter
• Excellent hand-eye coordination
• Ability to see subtle color differences
• Experience with breathing masks and protective clothing
• Ability to work with chemicals and paints
• Ability to stand for long periods
