Job summary

The Production Painter role at Indmar Marine Engines involves daily painting of engines and components for the Production department, with minor assembly work as needed. Qualifications

  • Must operate painting and ventilation equipment safely.
  • Familiar with MSDS and NIOSH regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Mask components for painting.
  • Prime and paint engines and parts with a spray gun.
  • Start up/shut down ventilation and painting equipment.
  • Flush paint lines when needed; dispose of waste properly.
  • Wear and maintain PPE, including respirator; lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Assist with minor engine assembly as part of production.

Indmar Marine Engines is looking for a punctual, dependable, quality-focused team player to join our Production Department.


Position Summary:

The Production Painter’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the daily painting of engines and components for the Production department and minor assembly of engines.


The full-time position offers a starting rate of $18.00 - 21.00/hour depending upon experience with a consistent daytime schedule. Benefits include health insurance, paid holidays, paid time off and a retirement savings plan with a company match. Punctuality and good attendance are crucial to success in this position. Work hours are 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Thursday. Eligible for a $40.00 weekly attendance bonus. Candidate must have reliable transpiration and a valid driver's license.


Requirements

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Masks proper components for painting.

  • Primes and paints engines and parts thoroughly using a spray gun.

  • Responsible for the startup/shut down of the ventilation and painting equipment.

  • Properly flushes out paint lines when needed.

  • Disposes of all filters daily. Filters are not to be left in the building.

  • Must properly wear and maintain PPE provided by the company which includes a half face piece respirator.

  • Minor assembly of engine parts as part of the production process.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge And Skills


  • Must be able to operate ventilation equipment and painting equipment.

  • Must be familiar with MSDS and NIOSH regulations.

  • EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • Minimum two (2) years experience painting components in a production environment.


ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Constant noise from machinery and tools; Standing consistently in the paint booth.


PHYSICAL EFFORT:

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.


SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to wear a half face piece respirator and be clean shaven to assure of proper seal on respirator. Other PPE required is a Tyvek suit, head sock, gloves and safety glasses. This position performs hazardous waste management activities regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA-40 CFR 265.16) and Department of Transportation (49 CFR). The following tasks include, but are not limited to the generation, handling, labeling, inspection, and emergency response. Properly identify and characterize hazardous waste generated in assigned work areas. Place hazardous waste into approved containers. Ensure hazardous waste containers are closed except when adding or removing waste, labeled with the words “Hazardous Waste”. Marked with appropriate DOT/GHS hazard indicators and their accumulation start dates, along with ensuring that hazardous waste materials are in their proper packing. Conduct and document hazardous waste container inspections in assigned areas. Offering hazardous waste to an approved Treatment & Storage Disposal transportation company. Act as Emergency Coordinator or emergency response support personnel.
