Block Multifamily Group is seeking a skilled painter to maintain interior and exterior surfaces across properties. You will prepare surfaces, apply coatings, and ensure a high-quality finish while following safety protocols.

The role requires lifting, standing for long periods, and using hand and power tools. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are needed to travel between sites on a daily basis.

SUMMARYPainters are required to paint the interior of structures, buildings, and other surfaces. Your role will be important sincegood painting has both practical and aesthetic benefits. An excellent painter is knowledgeable in selecting the rightmaterial for their job. They have experience in painting with various tools and in various heights and spaces whileobserving all safety measures. They must be reliable and skillful as well as possess great attention to detail in completingtheir duties. The goal is to deliver high-quality painting work.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Assist the rest of the staff, as directed, in their efforts to manage the property in an efficient manner.2. Operate, repair, maintain and monitor different types of equipment, machinery, or motor vehicles such as golfcarts if applicable.*3. Work with various types of chemicals such as cleaning supplies, pool chemicals, paint, freon, etc.*4. Complete the ongoing required training assignments through our online learning platform.5. Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, state and federal laws; e.g., OSHA,ADA, Fair Housing, etc.6. Assists with \"make-ready\" duties when requested by the manager or senior maintenance technician.7. Notifies Service Manager or Community Manager of any damage above normal wear and tear in vacantapartments.8. Performs interior & exterior painting duties when requested. Carries buckets of paint from storage area to worksite.9. Completes minor and routine service requests when requested by manager and/or service manager. Followprocedures when service requests are performed.10. Performs work area clean-up and safety related duties.11. Performs any additional duties assigned by VP of Maintenance, and Community Manager.PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE/SAFETY1. Helps with any tasks necessary to maintain the community in top condition.2. Maintains awareness of proper safety precautions at all times.3. Constantly observes condition of apartment property throughout the community and immediately reportsand/or initiates action to correct unsafe conditions.4. Needs to be aware of all utility meter cut-offs, apartment and fixture cut-offs, sewer cleanouts.5. Ensures that storage areas always remain locked when not in use.REQUIREMENTS1. High School Diploma or equivalent.2. Interpersonal Skills: Many painters work during regular office hours, while company employees are working.Being friendly and pleasant will help you in your job.3. Strength and Stamina: You will need to lift heavy objects and spend most of your time on your feet.4. Must be knowledgeable in painting methods and products as well as patching and wall finishing to give the bestappearance of vacant apartments.5. Must meet all physical requirements and be able to take direction.6. Have and maintain a current valid driver's license and reliable transportation.*7. Must be able to work 40 hours per week if full time or up to 25 hours if part time. The weekly schedule maychange as required and weekends may be required as circumstances warrant.8. An employee in this position must be knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of the followingtools:Hand Tools: Various wrenches, screwdrivers, painting tools and equipment.User-Moved Aids: Wheelbarrows, dollies, hand trucks, buckets, jacks, step ladders, full ladders.Power Tools: Power washers, etc.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS1. Constant need to be on feet (66% to 100% of the time).2. Have constant need to perform the following physical activities (66% to 100% of the time):- Bend/Stoop/Squat/Kneel Perform routine painting.- Climb Stairs Routine duties require access to all levels.- Push or Pull Move equipment, appliances, open and close doors, etc.- Reach Above Shoulder Perform routine painting.- Climb Ladders Performing painting.- Grasp/Grip/Turning Handle tools and equipment, perform routine maintenance/repairs.- Finger Dexterity Handle tools and equipment, perform routine maintenance/repairs.3. Lifting/carrying (supplies, blower, ladders, etc.):- Over 150 lbs. Rare need (less than 1% of the time)- 75 - 150 lbs. Occasional need (1% to 33% of the time)- 25 - 75 lbs. Frequent need (33% to 66% of the time)- 1 - 25 lbs. Constant need (66% to 100% of the time)4. NOTE: Lifting and carrying of weights exceeding 50 lbs. is often accomplished with assistance from one or more persons and while wearing the required, appropriate safety equipment. Examples of heaviest items lifted include washer/dryers, refrigerators, A/C units, abandoned sofas, etc.
