Job summary

Reading Truck Group is seeking skilled painters to finish premium truck bodies at a high-volume shop. You will prepare surfaces, mix paints, and apply coatings to meet exact specifications while maintaining strict quality control.

Experience from tech school, industry, or personal projects is acceptable. This role emphasizes safety, record-keeping, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with surface prep, sanding, and priming.
• Familiarity with industrial/coating processes and color matching.
• Ability to follow technical painting instructions and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces as needed by sanding and grinding.
• Mix, thin, and adjust spray equipment for proper atomization.
• Mix paints and primers to exact specifications ordered by the customer.
• Apply coatings per recommended thickness.
• Quality inspection process for units and parts scheduled to be painted.
• Quality inspection on painted units.
• Operate paint spraying equipment including pot guns, compressors etc.
• Maintain records on paint.
• Must complete full and half face fit test pre-employment.
• Wear all required PPE.

Our Painters work together to complete the painting of specialty truck equipment. Experience required from tech school, industry or personal hobby.

The Nuts and Bolts:

• Prepare surfaces as needed by sanding and grinding
• Mix, thin, and adjust spray equipment for proper atomization
• Mix paints and primers to exact specifications ordered by the customer
• Apply coatings per recommended thickness
• Quality inspection process for units and parts scheduled to be painted
• Quality inspection on painted units
• Operate paint spraying equipment including pot guns, compressors etc.
• Craftsmanship must meet Company quality standards
• Follow all Company safety rules and policies
• Maintain records on paint
• Required to complete a full and half face fit test- pre-employment
• Must be willing and able to wear all require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
