Job summary

Reading Truck is seeking a Paint Technician to join our Nashville-area team. Under the Shop Foreman, you will perform painting, finishing, and maintenance of interior and exterior structures of specialty truck equipment.

Key tasks include surface sanding, scraping, prepping bodies for paint, mixing and applying topcoat and undercoat, cleaning sprayers and the paint booth, and performing final touch-ups to ensure top quality. Prior painting experience is valued.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years painting experience
• Experience with pot gun spray equipment and light sanding on large equipment preferred
• Bed liner application experience preferred
• Decal/wrap application experience preferred

How You Will Make an Impact

A Paint Technician at Reading Truck will work under the direction of the Shop Foreman to perform work in painting, finishing, and maintaining interior and exterior structures of specialty truck equipment.

The Nuts and Bolts

• Sanding manufactured product
• Scraping surfaces of truck equipment
• Preparing truck bodies prior to paint application
• Mixing paint for painting as needed
• Applying topcoat paint application and undercoat as needed
• Cleaning spray guns, paint booth and work area
• Final touch-ups for quality assurance controls
• Other duties as assigned

Required Credentials

• 1-2 years of painting experience
• Prior experience with pot gun spray equipment and light sanding on large equipment or vocational vehicles preferred
• Bed liner application experience preferred
• Decal/wrap application experience preferred
