Job summary

Reading Truck Group is seeking a Paint Technician to support the Shop Foreman in painting, finishing, and maintaining interior and exterior structures of specialty truck equipment. You will sand, scrape, prep bodies, mix and apply paint, and ensure clean, safe work areas while performing final QA touch-ups.

The role emphasizes hands-on painting with pot gun equipment, sanding on large equipment, and potential bed liner or decal application experience as assets, with a commitment to workplace

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of painting experience.
• Experience with pot gun spray equipment and light sanding on large equipment or vocational vehicles preferred.
• Bed liner application experience preferred.
• Decal/wrap application experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sanding manufactured product.
• Scraping surfaces of truck equipment.
• Preparing truck bodies prior to paint application.
• Mixing paint for painting as needed.
• Applying topcoat paint and undercoat as needed.
• Cleaning spray guns, paint booth and work area.
• Final touch-ups for quality assurance controls.
• Other duties as assigned.

How You Will Make an Impact

A Paint Technician at Reading Truck will work under the direction of the Shop Foreman to perform work in painting, finishing, and maintaining interior and exterior structures of specialty truck equipment.

The Nuts and Bolts

• Sanding manufactured product
• Scraping surfaces of truck equipment
• Preparing truck bodies prior to paint application
• Mixing paint for painting as needed
• Applying topcoat paint application and undercoat as needed
• Cleaning spray guns, paint booth and work area
• Final touch-ups for quality assurance controls
• Other duties as assigned

Required Credentials

• 1-2 years of painting experience
• Prior experience with pot gun spray equipment and light sanding on large equipment or vocational vehicles preferred
• Bed liner application experience preferred
• Decal/wrap application experience preferred
