Job summary

Reading Truck is seeking a Truck Installation Technician to install specialty equipment such as service bodies, stake bodies, dump bodies, hitches, and other commercial truck accessories. You will work under the Shop Supervisor to complete installations and ensure safety compliance.

The role requires welding and electrical wiring experience, the ability to interpret schematics, hydraulic knowledge, and strong troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of welding skills (metal and aluminum).
• 2+ years of electrical wiring experience.
• Ability to build schematics.
• Complex hydraulics knowledge or experience is a plus.
• Independent ability to troubleshoot and work with power hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Install truck bodies, plows, and commercial truck accessories.
• Mount hitches, shelves, ladders, racks, mud flaps, and related equipment.
• Follow safety rules and PPE requirements.
• Train with other mechanics as needed.
• Perform other duties assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

How You Will Make An Impact

A Truck Installation Technician at Reading Truck works under the direction of the Shop Supervisor to complete the installation of specialty truck equipment such as service utility bodies, stake bodies, dump bodies, hitches, and other commercial truck accessories.

The Nuts and Bolts

• Follow safety rules and comply with all PPE requirements.
• Install truck bodies, plows, commercial truck accessories.
• Mount hitches, shelves, drawers, ladder racks, mud flaps, etc.
• Basic weld experience (helpful).
• Train with other mechanics as needed.
• Other duties assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

Required Credentials

• 2+ years of welding skills (metal and aluminum).
• 2+ years of electrical wiring.
• Ability to build schematics.
• Complex Hydraulics knowledge and experience (a plus).
• Independent ability to troubleshoot.
• Ability to operate power hand tools (and have basic tools).
