Job summary

Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Paint Shop Supervisor to lead the Paint Shop and Grounds Bargaining Unit employees, directing daily operations, ensuring safety, and maintaining high-quality paint and related services across university facilities.

The role requires extensive supervisory experience, strong knowledge of painting processes, and the ability to manage budgets, schedules, and cross-department coordination within the School of Public Health facilities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience, including three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience per JHU policy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Paint Shop and Grounds Bargaining Unit staff to meet quality standards and deadlines.
  • Analyze performance against standards and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with other departments to manage multiple workflows and deadlines.
  • Order materials and maintain inventory for the Paint Shop.
  • Prepare cost and time estimates for day-to-day jobs and larger projects.
